Tornado

Being on this quarantine I have had more time to conversate with my parents. Some of there stories are crazy but one of them was interesting especially with tornado season around the corner. My mother sister used to live in a small town in Oklahoma where they always have tornado every year. So, like 20 year ago my aunt was enjoying her day like every other day. She had described the day as a calm, sunny day it did not even seem like it was going to rain.

Later in the afternoon the sky got cloudy and the sirens went off and as always there is a lot of people that ignore the waring. On the news they were saying the tornado was about 30 miles out and to take cover the huge monster was an EF4 with close to 180mph of wind. My parent will never forget this because they were some of people to go out and help pick up after the disaster. That tornado tore everything in its path ripping trees from the ground, pieces of residents scrambled miles out. My aunt house was destroyed the roof had come down on them while they sat in the middle of the house in the hallway. When my parents arrived in Oklahoma, they were so freight with all the damage they were seeing a child walking away from some destroyed homes. The child was asking for help because there was two people trapped underneath debris from there house. My parents pulled over to help them get out that was incredibly sad to hear. My mom says it different when you see all the damage in person than on the news that feeling when you realize in those moments that all that matter are the lives. So, my parent helped my aunt pick her remaining that were left and brought her to live with us until she everything resolved with insurances. Another thing that was nice that the community got together to rebuild the town back to how it was.
